Temples of Hope, Rituals of Survival: Gordon Parks and Black Religious Life
Howard University Museum
September 2025 - May 2026
Curated by Dr. Melanee Harvey

Taking inspiration from Gordon Parks's 1953 photographs and contact sheets, "Truth Life" is an original poem that reflects on the curiosity of children. There is healing and learning in their witness.
"Truth Life" published in Pastor E. F. Ledbetter and the Metropolitan Missionary Baptist Church, 1953 accompanies the exhibition Temples of Hope, Rituals of Survival.
